The Journal of Medical Secretaries & Administrators (ISSN 1757 4412) is the official journal of the British Society of Medical Secretaries & Administrators (BSMSA) and publishes articles of professional and educational interest to all medical secretaries and administrators.
From 2009 the Journal of Medical Secretaries & Administrators will be mainly published online.
Topics covered include:
- IT, patient management software, the National Programme for IT
- Pay, grading, and Agenda for Change
- Medical secretarial practice, time management, line management
- Medico-legal issues (e.g. employment contracts, handling complaints, whistle-blowing)
- Continuing professional development including professional portfolios
- Data protection, confidentiality and security
- Useful resources for medical secretaries and administrators (including websites, book reviews, notices of conferences)
- News of BSMSA events and news direct from members
