City & Guilds Level 2 AMSPAR Diploma in Medical Administration

Specifically designed for people working, or wishing to work as Administration Assistants, Ward Clerks, Receptionists, Records Clerks, Support Medical Secretaries
 
About the course:
City and Guilds Level 2 AMSPAR Intermediate Diploma in Medical Reception
 
The Certificate is awarded on achievement of 49 learning credits which will be gained by completing the following mandatory units:
  • Medical Terminology. (more info)
  • Medical Word Processing
  • Medical Audio Transcription
  • Medical Principles for the Administrator. (more info)
  • Administration Skills in a Medical Environment. (more info)
  • Communication Skills in a Medical Environment. (more info)
  • Working in the NHS.

This is, in the main part, a distance learning course. You will however be required to attend an exam centre at the end of each unit to sit either your final timed assignment or final unit exam. Our exam centres are based in London, Birmingham and Manchester, Lincoln and St Austell. If you are working in a medical environment there may the opportunity for you to sit you final unit assessment in your work place.  We do have access to an exam centre in Dublin, however there is an addition fee for this.

It is expected that it will take approximately 18 months to complete based on 2-3 hours study per week. However, it is possible for you to complete the course much sooner as the course pace is set by each student and your mentor will work at your pace.

Course to be completed in a maximum of 24 months of further charges will be incurred.

The cost of the course is £1150.00 and includes:

We offer students the option to pay in full or by eight instalments. This option incurs an additional administration fee of £20.00. The first instalment of £146.25 can be made online, by bank transfer, or cheque and the seven remaining instalments must be paid by standing order over seven consecutive months. Course material will be released on receipt of the first payment. If your fee is being paid for by a Trust or similar, a purchase order guaranteeing payment, must be sent to the BSMSA office at the time of enrolment. An invoice or proforma may be requested in advance. 

If you already have the BSMSA Certificate in Medical Terminology then £180.00 can be deducted from the course cost. If  you have the City & Guilds level 2 or 3 Certificate in Medical Terminology £200 can be deducted from your payment. 

If you have already achieved the City & Guilds Level 2 Certificate in Medical Administration, which includes some of the elements above there will be a substantial saving when upgrading to this qualification. Please contact the training office for information.
